Last night I attended Super Happy Dev House 5 (point oh?). It was my first. David Weekly hosted us with all the wifi and power outlets we could ever need. Meeting all sorts of cool web geeks was a terrific experience and makes me think I’ll fit right in when one of them offers me a job (elbows ribs of imaginary friend). There was also plenty of interesting beer to be drunk. The highlight of the night had to be the crotch shot taken by (and of) Cal. I have a feeling I’ll be attending many more get-togethers with the likes of Andy and Ryan (who skipped last night to attend his 5 year high school reunion).
The presentations were great, especially Andy’s Python = Chicks + Money and Jeff + Adam with the Ajax tank battle. And I met a punk-show-buddy, Jess, which was double awesome. I’ll have some pictures as soon as I find the USB cable for my camera, or someone lends me a card reader.

This post is not about underwear.
This Tuesday, The Briefs released their newest album Steal Yer Heart. If you thought this was going to be a review, you were wrong. These Seattle punks have been rocking since 1999 when they started playing gigs for fun. They recorded an album called Hit After Hit and started touring. I first ran across them at the Capitol Garage coffee house in Sacramento where they brought incredible enthusiasm and entertaining puck rock antics to the tiny stage.
I haven’t heard the new album yet, but tomorrow night at Bottom of the Hill is their San Francisco stop on a quick CD release tour in support of Steal Yer Heart. If you can possibly make the show, I highly recommend it. If you like punk rock, especially high-energy-new-wave-rock-your-socks punk, you better be there.

Kevin got a new windshield today. He explains over AIM:
- Kevin: a rock got me this morning, at first it was fully repairable
- a 1″ star chip thing
- Cameron: damn
- Kevin: i figured i would go for the no deductible chip fix
- i had it all lined up
- i drove to speedy auto glass
- and when i arrived there it somehow turned 6″ long!
- Kevin: i think jeebus punished me for being unprofessional yesterday
- i am getting hella pressure at GS in my final week so everything annoys me
- Cameron: oh yeah?
- did you let something slip?
- Kevin: and there’s our reallllly annoying receptionist who was buggin me about a mailmerge thing
- like every time i pass the front desk she bothers me about it in the most obnoxious filipino accent
- like i’d go to the bathroom, she’d bother me
- return from the bathroom, bother me
- Cameron: damn
- leave a man alone, woman!
- Kevin: so she did it about 6 times and i said “look, you bothering me every time i pass you isn’t going to make it happen any faster”
- and she was like “..but it’s the most important”
- and i said “not really”
- hahaha
- so jeebus punished me by destroying my windshield
- now i will resume being calm

Finally I got up off my ass. I took a few pictures. Then I sat back down again to post this…
I love the city. It’s possible to get rid of non-functioning electronic equipment in virtually seconds. To illustrate the ease with which you can rid yourself of an item such as a television, I have created a miniature graphic novel for your viewing pleasure. It can be seen here.

With all the changes going on in my life, I just haven’t had the time to post a damn thing here. Let’s not even talk about the sad fact that I’m STILL using the default template. UGH. I promise some progress with this bitch once things settle down a bit.
Progress report

Soon…

After living for the longest time ever in one place (barring my formative years with the parents) I realize that I have collected way too much stuff.
Note to self: Quit being such a pack rat.
Thank you, friends, for helping me bring my crap with me, into the next place I’ll be collecting things…

Did anyone ever say starting fresh was easy? Probably not.
I’ve been a product of the Bay Area since I was born. I grew up near the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, and I lived there until I was 18. However, for the last six years, I’ve been living in Davis. Hardly what I would call a stimulating locale. Let’s recap…
